Microtonium (2023-now)

Microtonium emerged from a mutual fascination with the trautonium designed by Friedrich Trautwein in 1930. Microtonium started out as teensy with sensor data over serial and a sound engine made in Max. I later built it out to a standalone synth on a bela with a new audio engine built in superCollider, running natively on the bela. It features een ribbon controller that can be played linearly, with vibrato and portamento. The newest version has a compact enclosure (designed in autoCad). The latest version can be seen in this video.

Microtonium (Teensy/Max MSP) is built in collaboration with Tim Schippers
